This is Uncle Joe's log home, it is just a beautiful place. They have put in a lot of hard work into this place and it shows!
This picture above is their view from the balcony, pretty sweet view!
As a side note I must mention the water... They have the BEST tasting water I have ever had, bottled water pales in comparison to their well water. I stayed very hydrated while we were there just because the water tasted soooo good.

This is the room we got to stay in. Very cozy!
So Sunday morning we went on a hike and we didn't get very far when we spotted a bear! It is the first bear that has been seen on their property. They have 104 acres so they get lots of wildlife. Fortunately this bear did not see us, so we were able to snap a few shots. We went back to the house to collect a few weapons for our hiking adventure, a shovel and a four wheeler for quick a escape if needed!
Ahhh, the mountain air was so fresh and fabulous up there, I wanted to trap it in a bottle, but then I suppose it would go stale being couped up in a bottle!
We also found a pile of bones, elk or deer we suppose. Here I am giving an anatomy lesson of the pelvic bones. I am pointing to the acetabulum! I am an anatomy geek, I get very excited about it and would love to teach A&P someday...
So Uncle Joe loves guns and has a shooting range. After a thorough lesson we went out to shoot some clay discs... Matt was pretty good, he has done this before.
I on the other hand had never really shot a gun before and freaked myself out with the first shot!
But then I started to get the hang of it and I actually hit four discs as they were flying through the air! I was very surprised, three of them I actually hit in a row, rock! The gun was very heavy for me though and I got tired quickly, I have such puny upper body strength, always have...
Uncle Joe was the pro at it!
Next we got to shoot some hand guns. At first these looked very scary and intimidating, but as we got a lesson we got more comfortable with knowing the rules and how to handle them safely.
They were a lot of fun. Matt and I really liked shooting the 22. There was a 22 and a 9mm, so we got to try them both out.
Some fun pictures though!
Ahh another beautiful sunset...
Our last morning we went on a hike with Joe and Kelly and they showed us one of their favorite rocks. Uncle Joe called it the fertility rock, if we ever have fertility problems I guess we'll know where to go. Forget the doctors they hardly know what they are talking about its all about rocks and mother nature!
