A brief survey of DC

We took an afternoon to check out some of the sites. We rode our bikes around to all the monutments and down the national mall up and around the capital building. It was a great way to check it all out. We didn't really get to see anything too in depth yet, but this was our start! And it was all free and amazing at the same time.

Thomas Jefferson was cool. I love the quotes in each memorial, they are very inspiring and makes you proud of our founding fathers and how our country was founded.

It's kind of like that scene in National Treasure where Nicholas Cage says "people just don't talk like that anymore"...

WWII memorial, only a few years old.

Overlooking the reflecting pool, washington memorial and the capital.

The Lincoln memorial, also an inspiring moment.

This was a global art project raising awareness of something with the ocean life that was on display along the national mall. There were stations to paint your own part of the art and these canvases were from what had been contributed in Bejiing, at the olympics I suppose.

I Love this picture of the Supreme Court with the ominous sky looming above. Justice anyone?

This is the Arlington bridge, it's old but works, we sat here and ate our picnic lunch.
Thats our brief survey, more to come I'm sure over the next few months!
