So a woman from church told us that Milwaukee is one of the best cities to be in for the summer, because almost any night of the week you can go to free outdoor music and concerts.
Last Thursday we went to Jazz in the Park downtown, it happens every thurday during the summer and it is a rather fun atmosphere! Everyone brings a picnic and wine and sets up tables and basically camps out for 3 hours with friends. Some people read, others play games, some get crazy and dance. There are people from all walks of life from people arriving in limos to the bums on the streets and everyone just has a good time.
Cathedral Square is a historical site of Milwaukee. I guess there was a slave from the south that escaped and came up to Milwaukee and the slave owner came to Milwaukee to claim his slave and I guess the people of Milwaukee, including some of the governing bodies went against the law and helped the slave escape to Canada. I guess this park was near where he had been held. That is a rough sketch of the story that a friend from church told me anyway. The park is actually very small and is probably not even the size of a whole city block. They block the streets off and set up johnny on the spots and there are all sorts of vendors set up with food and wine for sale as well.
