Wisconsin State Fair

Last weekend we went to the Wisconsin State fair!! It was quite a big deal and everyone at work had been talking to me about it since June, so we decided we had to go. As we were walking in Matt said he didn't think he had ever been to a fair!

Cream puffs are very famous at the WI state fair, so we had to try one. They have a whole building dedicated to the original WI cream puffs!

Pig races!

Bunnies, we watched them being judged and scrutinized and then we really wanted one!
We refrained however.

The Horse carriage show was fun!

This was the grand prize winner in bonsai! This tree is 50 years old, we really liked it and decided to have a bonsai garden someday.

The forestry dept had a schoolhouse for smokey the bear and education on forest fires.

It was a fun-filled day lots of people, and vendors. There was a huge warehouse that was filled with "as seen on TV" salespeople. They were doing their whole infomercial there with cooking shows and set up chairs for audiences etc. It was a bit overwhelming, I guess it's a bit like the home and garden show. There was also music everywhere and bands playing in little bars all over, by 8 pm the streets were packed with people drinking and dancing. There was also a fun booth for wine tasting, you bought tokens and just went to all the different booths to taste loads of different wines. WI has quite a few wineries so we tasted some local wines.

LOVE the pic of you with the cream puff, Amy! So cute!! What a blessing to be able to experience all you seem to be seeing and doing. We're so happy for you!

Never been to a fair, never been to a water park. I cannot believe the sheltered life you have lived, Matthew! For shame! :)
